Our Story
CBHRI was established in 2016 to promote, support, and conduct research in the fields of epidemiology, medicine, and health sciences, while helping to strengthen research capacity and address health questions relevant to Curaçao and the wider Caribbean.
From its beginnings, CBHRI has encouraged collaboration between researchers and healthcare professionals from different disciplines, connecting scientific, clinical, and public health perspectives.
Over time, its research activities have developed across multiple disciplines. Alongside biomedical research, CBHRI’s work now includes epidemiological and social research, as well as research related to medical education and quality of care.
As CBHRI continues to develop, its focus remains on strengthening research in Curaçao, fostering collaboration, and contributing scientific knowledge relevant to health and healthcare in the region.
